Joint Venture Partnership

In this approach, the inventor owns patent rights to an invention sought by an existing company.

The company is usually interested in the inventor's consulting or employment services as well. This may be on a full-time or part-time basis, on-site, or off-site.

The patent rights are usually transferred (assigned) to the company in return for company stock and possibly cash.

If the deal includes the inventor's consulting services, a separate consulting or employment contract is established.
